The format we took was to have a pot luck brunch, a no latecomers policy, and opened it to Self-identified Femmes and Femme Questioning folks. I highly recommend doing this in your town! We got some new people who hadn't been to a Femme Family event before and it was really a heartwarming and great way to meet people and learn about ourselves and our identities.
I’ve never done a giveaway on my blog before, but I have the rare opportunity to share with you some one-of-a-kind plus size art!
Even if the cold cruel world of fashion doesn’t care about us, we can care about each other and maybe they’ll catch up and get wise.–Deb Malkin
Thanks to Deb at Re/Dress, I have a pair of staff designed jeans to give to one lucky blog reader or twitter follower!
We have all of these jeans from designer brand Abby Z, so the staff at Re/Dress got together to create limited edition jeans for our Radical Fatshion Weekend at the Store. You can buy these beauties at the store or win one of my designs right here.
I have two offerings, one is my Body Outlaw Design.
We have them in size 12-24 in Abby Z jeans, but I can also make them from the regular jean collection at Re/Dress up to size 32, and I think we have some 5X and 6X pants, too. Your choice.
To win the contest, leave a comment here with your name, jean size and favorite thing about yourself. To get an additional entry in the contest, tweet the following “Retweet to win a pair of plus size limited edition Radical Fatshion jeans at queerfatfemme.com @queerfatfemme”
Each entry will be numbered based on when the comment or tweet is timestamped. Visiting Queer Fat Femme Jessie Dress (of the amazing redesign of the Peta Ad) will randomly select the winner on Saturday morning.
Jessie is in town for the Radical Fatshion weekend.
First event is the Glutton for Fatshion Zine Release party. I’m performing my cupcake piece. It’s at Re/Dress, 109 Boerum Place in Brooklyn. Starts at 8 PM with the DIY station. The Facebook invite has all the info!
The second event is the Indie Designer Trunk Show at Re/Dress. We have three designers who are queer fat femmes from Portland and Cleveland selling their wares in a rare opportunity for New Yorkers to actually try stuff on. Check out the link to see the designers’ stuff. So hot!
